The HPE JH329A OfficeConnect 1420 8-Port Layer 2 Unmanaged Gigabit Desktop Switch is designed for small business and others looking for plug-and-play basic Layer 2 connectivity for their network. The OfficeConnect 1420 switch has quality of service (QoS) support and IEEE 802.3x flow control features that improve network efficiency. Simplified plug-and-play convenience is supported by features such as auto-MDIX and auto-speed negotiation.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has innovated and combined the latest advances in silicon technology to bring you some of the most power-efficient switches. The switch supports the Energy Efficient Ethernet IEEE 802.3az standard, as well as auto power-down mode on idle ports and power saving on short-distance cables. With fanless silent operation, this switch is ideal for office deployment.
The HPE JH329A OfficeConnect 1420 8-Port switch is unmanaged, which allows it to provide plug-and-play simplicity for fast deployment. Auto-speed negotiation selects individual port speeds automatically, which can remove the need for manual intervention. The comprehensive LED display with per-port indicators provides an at-a-glance view of the status, activity, speed, and full-duplex operation of the switches. Another feature of this switch is Flow control, which helps ensure reliable communications during full-duplex operation. HPE/IEEE Auto-MDIX automatically adjust for straight-through or crossover cables on all RJ45 ports.
The Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Connectivity supports high-speed Ethernet connections over highly affordable copper Category 5 cabling. In addition to this 10-Gigabit fibre connectivity future-proofs it, as 10-Gigabit technology allows high-speed fibre connection to servers or other switches with connection flexibility using optional SFP+ or SFP transceivers.
Energy-efficient Ethernet supports the new IEEE 802.3az standard, and allows lower power consumption when operated with IEEE-compliant client devices in 100 Mb/s mode only. The JH329A OfficeConnect switch supports half/full-duplex auto-negotiating capability on every port, which doubles the throughput of every port. The Jumbo frame support allows frames up to 9,216 bytes to be switched through the network.
The HPE JH329A OfficeConnect 1420 8-Port switch’s fanless design enables quiet operation for discreet deployment in open spaces. The Internal power supply delivers operational convenience and an environment suitable for business operations.
The IEEE 802.1p prioritisation delivers data to devices, based on the priority and type of traffic. Along side the DiffServ Code Point (DSCP) support which allows real-time traffic prioritisation, based on L3 TOS/DSCP parameters
